SeaTac Airport Hanukkah Menorah Controversy

I was appalled by the SeaTac (Seattle) airport's response to Rabbi Elazar Bogomilsky's request to install a single menorah at the airport. I haven't read anything that gives the rabbi's point of view and the full story until I found this great article. It's well-written and worth reading in its entirety.

Interesting how everyone who wants to portray the rabbi as some kind of victim always uses the word "request" instead of the phrase "threatened to sue". The rabbi was out of line, could have worked to raise community support for a menorah, instead of coming across as a whiny, litigious religious leader. He was a jerk. I'm sure there will be a menorah up in the airport next Christmas season but unfortunately it will only remind me about a lawsuit happy rabbi, not what it should represent. Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah.
